Mr. Sunirmal Chakravarthi has been a teacher since 1983 when he joined St. Paul's School, Darjeeling in the English Department. He served the school as a House Master, and for 9 years as Senior Master. During his tenure at St. Paul's School he looked after many school activities, such as, DEAS, Trekking and Mountaineering, Dramatics, Debates and Elocution. In 2006, he joined La Martiniere for Boys, Calcutta as Principal, a post that he continues to hold till today. The school is currently ranked No. 3 amongst boy's day schools in India. Mr. Chakravarthi says "he is a teacher by choice and a Principal by accident" and is entirely committed to the well-being of the students under his charge. He is keenly interested in reading, music, trekking and films when he is not involved with school activities. He also has a passion for travelling. He is happily married to his wife Shova and they are blessed with one son. I am very happy to learn that St. Xavier's Group of Schools is coming up with St. Xavier's High School, Gurgaon, which has been set up with the intention of providing its children with the best of education through modern pedagogy and that towards this end, the Management is doing its best to provide the most modern infrastructure and teachers who have a cheerful disposition towards children and their interests. I am more than certain that with such a mix of dynamic leadership through its management, modern infrastructure and committed and caring teacher, the school can only grow in leaps and bounds and I wish the entire school family every success.
With best wishes,
Ex La Martiniere for Boys
